Solace

Delhi is a unique city, steeped in the past, shaped by invasions, often repeated invasions by the same warlord. It has a breathtaking array of architectural gems, ranging from the Mughal palaces and forts, characterized by a blend of Persian and Local styles to the British colonial era buildings, with their brick facades. This particular shot was taken in the tomb of a Mughal Emperor named Humayun. The man was just a random tourist, like me, but his presence helps add a lot of emotional heft to the shot.

Pipemetal

This picture looks like it is a capture of the ripples spreading across the surface of a water body, but it reality, it is a picture of a lamp, taken through a chrome coated metal pipe.

This required the following items to achieve.

All that was required was to aim the camera down the pipe, aim the pipe at the flame and voila. Once captured, I applied some mild colour correction in the form of slightly increased contrast and a touch of curves(RGB) to reduce the overall brightness.

Summer. In Kuwait, that word signifies burning heat, burning wind, cats driven mad by the aforementioned burning head, and birds that try to huddle as close to the window as possible to get some brief respite. Fortunately for me, the latter makes for some great photo opportunities. But looking at the big picture, summer sucks. 41 degrees celcius outside at midnight, and 52 degrees at noon. Thank God for air conditioning!
